Vincennes Rivet in the second half outscored Barr-Reeve 33-10 on the way to a 62-34 win in the Class 1A Semi-Final at Loogootee Friday Evening.
The game was close in the first half. In fact, it was tied late in the first half when Barr-Reeve’s Moriah Bullock hit a 3 to notch it up at 22 a piece. 10 Seconds later, Rivet Junior Tia Tolbert hit a 3 to Put Rivet up 25-22, spurring them to a 7-2 run to end the first half. The Lady Patriots outscored Barr-Reeve in the third quarter 22-3 to pull away the victory.
Rivet was led by Grace Waggoner with 19 points while Tia Tolbert added 12. Molly Niehaus paced Rivet in the first with 9 and ended up with 11 in the contest. Caroline Herman also had double figures with 10, including several key shots in the 3rd quarter.
With the victory, Rivet is now 25-0 as they get ready to take on 21-3 Loogootee. The Lady Patriots came back late in the 4th against Loogootee to win 51-49 on January 10th. Game time is at 7:30 this evening on 97.7 WAOV.
