Blazers Advance to NJCAA National Title Game

HUTCHISON, KS – For the first time since 1986, the Vincennes University Trailblazers are in the championship game of the Division 1 NJCAA Mens Basketball Tournament at Hutchison, Kansas. The Blazers took down South Plains, Texas by a final of 85-67. The win ups VU’s record to 33-2 on the season.
The Blazers were led in scoring by Kevin Osawe with 22 points. Keith Clemons added 19. George Dixon tossed in 14 while Lony Francis Jr. chipped in 10.
Some key areas that Vincennes took South Plains to task at was in the rebounding department. VU out-rebounded South Plains 40-30, including 16-5 on the offensive glass. VU Also shot 7/16 from 3 point range while South Plains shot just 3/15. VU’s assist to turnover ratio was 4:1 assists to turnovers compared to 1:2 from South Plains.
Vincennes will be taking on Ranger (TX) for the title. Ranger heads into the game at 31-3. The game is set for 2 PM Eastern. The game is being nationally televised on CBS Sports Network.
