Scott’s Law violators face higher fines in the new year.

Driver’s in Illinois who fail to move over when they see flashing lights on the side of the highway will be fined 250 dollars for a first offense, and at least 750 for a subsequent offense.

If the driver causes property damage or hurts someone, their license will be suspended.

Illinois State Police Trooper Mindy Carroll says the crackdown comes after a tough year for the agency.
