Investigation Continues into Shooting Death of Bald Eagle in Lawrence Co.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading an arrest and conviction in the shooting death of a bald eagle in Lawrence County,

The eagle was found alive, but later died from its injuries.

Although the birds are no longer endangered, they remain protected by two federal laws.

Under the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, a first offense of killing a bald eagle can bring up to a year in prison and a $100,000 fine.
